Walking Through Real Estate Cow Pies

Way back in 1978 when I was beginning my Council Bluffs, Iowa real estate career, I remember a national speaker talking about navigating cow pies in the field of real estate.

His take was that those sloppy bovine deposits were like land mines waiting for the unsuspecting novice Realtor. Stick with him so it won't stick to you. He could guide you safely around those pies, also known as real estate problems.

Well, there is some truth in that. And I like to think I help other agents miss some of those messy moments with a word of advice. Sometimes stepping in it is the best teacher. But why step in one that some kind soul (or is that sole) planted a big red flag in. Just knowing where to look can save alot of scraping and cleaning up later.

As the guy charged with Agent Development at the Council Bluffs NP Dodge Real Estate office, that is on my mind alot. And as a full-time agent representing buyers and sellers, it is even more important to me.

That's why I continue to seek more education. As a Certified Residential Specialist, I have studied for many additional hours to hone my real estate skills and learn where the freshest cow pies may be lurking. Just last week, I participated in an excellent 15-hour CRS class on working with buyers.

And I have traveled all over those fields, worked with thousands of people and been among the area's top-producing agents throughout my career. Just saying. And I do it all, working at your pace. No pressure, just results.

Who is keeping you out of the real estate cow pies so that you can enjoy home-sweet-pasture? If it is time to buy or sell, call, text or email me. I did graduate with a BS degree, you know.

When Cold Means Hot

Thinking of moving? Nasty weather have you shaking your head? Well, it may be cold outside, but waiting to put your home on the market or to buy, may just leave you frozen out of the market.

Now is a great time to Move!

If you are a seller, pay attention. Inventory is down as uninformed sellers are waiting for warmer weather to list their properties. Yet buyers are realizing they better get busy if they are to take advantage of the first-time homebyers tax credit of $8,000 or repeat homebuyers tax credit of $6,500. They MUST have an accepted offer in hand by April 30 to qualify. Shouldn't your home be on the market? Click here for detailed information on how the tax credit helps you http://www.federalhousingtaxcredit.com/.

And don't forget, if you are a current homeowner of five or more years, you may be eligible for up to $6,500 in tax credit if you buy now. I would love to answer your questions
